The 'Strand' beauty parlour has just closed and the shop stands empty. There has been a hair salon/ beauty parlour here for several years in various incarnations.
1961
In 1961 this shop was a 'Rentaset' radio and TV rental shop.
The British Motor Industry Heritage trust holds a photo in their archive TV sets being unloaded from the shop into one of the characteristic Rentaset vans. Sadly the image is under copyright and cannot be reproduced here.
