1962 - present

This is a branch of Tesco supermarket. It was closed for a couple of years while new flats were built above it. Re-opened in 2022 and the frontage at the right-hand end is aparto Spireworks who manage the flats

1970

Kelly's Directory 1970 Nos 159 to 167 Tesco. Note photos (right) taken by Paul Freestone in 1978, which show demolition of the left part of what is now Tesco's - apparently this is where Butlers grocers were before Tesco expansion. The front door of Tesco's was then moved Westwards into this space.
